There's much to see & do around the Mar Menor and beyond. Here's just a small selection of our favourite places.
The Mar Menor covers a vast area of 135 square kilometres and around there you will find some amazing sandy beaches. Most beaches have facilities for food, drinks and toilets as well as many of them being accessible for those using wheelchairs
The Mar Menor or "Little Sea" is a 135 square kilometre salt lagoon. You can enjoy the clear, calming water from many towns and villages around its edges. One bonus is that the water temperature is always around two degrees warmer than the med!
Whilst the calm water of the Mar Menor is blissful some people say that they miss "proper waves". The Mediterranean Sea is a short drive away from the resort either towards San Pedro or towards La Manga. Both places offer all you will need for a day at the beach
The Mud Baths at Lo Pagan are a free activity for all ages to enjoy. The therapeutic mud is said to be very good for all skin types and complaints as well as any aches and pains. Just cover yourself in the mud, let it dry on you then dip in the sea to rinse it off. Beware of the smell though!
Having around 320 days of sunshine a year locally it's probably no surprise that most of the activities locally are aimed at being outside and/or in water. With big water parks in both Murcia and Torrevieja there is a great day out for all the family.
"The Tourist Train" is genteel activity based in Los Alcazares. Take the train in an evening and enjoy a ride around the old and new parts of Los Alcazares. With stops outside many bars and restaurants you can get off and back on if you want to. The ride provides a comfortable, cool evening breeze but make sure you wave to people!
